Printing

A print works quotes per thousand and almost nothing about it costs per thousand. Make-ready is a fixed number of sheets per plate change, so on a short run it is a quarter of the paper and on a long one it is three per cent — which is why litho and digital cross at one computable quantity, and why quoting the wrong side of it either loses the job or loses money on it. Plus a sheet imposed to scale with the grain respected, because a fold across the grain cracks.

Every screen in this module, and what is on it

Read off the running application — the panels, the columns, the figures and the buttons that are actually there. Nothing on this page was written for a brochure.

What it works out

Computed by the software, checked against the running system.

Make-ready has nothing to do with the run lengthThe same leaflet, same paper, same press, costs 3,916.60 per thousand at 250 copies and 83.68 at 50,000. Make-ready is 88.00% of the cost at 250 and 3.66% at fifty thousand.

And everything a factory needs anyway

The trade module is the part nobody else builds. It sits on top of a complete business system, so there is no second package to buy for the accounts, the stores, the plant or the audit.

On the same ledger as everything else

This module is licensed on its own and starts with a seven-day trial, but it is not a separate system: material, cost and billing land in the same accounts as the rest of the business.
