Jewellery and devices

The census line called other manufacturing is not one industry, and in this country it is mostly two: gold, and medical and dental supplies. A jewellery works is a place where the raw material is worth more than the building, and its whole control system is one idea — everything is weighed in and out, every day. The idea that makes that work, and the thing this add-on enforces, is that the balance is struck in FINE metal rather than gross weight: gross weight can be made up with copper, so a works that reconciles gross can be level on the scale and eight grammes of gold short. Every weighing records a weight and a fineness and the reconciliation is done on what the two imply, bench by bench, with a job that does not balance refusing to close. Alloying to a karat is a least-cost blend of fine metal, the works' own scrap and master alloy, which is the furnace-charge problem at a thousandth of the scale, so it uses the same solver. The device side runs on three gates — the sterilisation cycle held, the biological indicator came back sterile, the batch record is signed — none of them a judgement call and any of them enough to stop the lot.

Every screen in this module, and what is on it

Read off the running application — the panels, the columns, the figures and the buttons that are actually there. Nothing on this page was written for a brochure.

And everything a factory needs anyway

The trade module is the part nobody else builds. It sits on top of a complete business system, so there is no second package to buy for the accounts, the stores, the plant or the audit.

On the same ledger as everything else

This module is licensed on its own and starts with a seven-day trial, but it is not a separate system: material, cost and billing land in the same accounts as the rest of the business.
